 C5 Corvette 1000Hp Axle/Hub SystemThis is the New Axle/Hub System for the C5 and C6 Corvettes from DSS. We have spent a great deal of time and energy producing the axles you see here. The factory axles are strong enough for most people but if your taking the time to read this you are one of the few who have managed to bring you car into a level not know to most. Our System starts out with a larger outer C.V. that is 33 splines (up from the factory 30 spline) we have manufactured a special hub that not only includes the ABS sensors but is a simple bolt on part. We then increased the internal spline size (bar inside the boot) to 36 spline (up from the factory 28 spline) not only did we make the bars out of Chromoly but used our special torsional design, made to twist with out breakage. Now when we make a set of axles the first thing we do is send the factory parts out for a Quantitative analysis, this tells us what material is and what it may be able to handle. Most parts needed to be changed but the inner c.v. housing was inpressive to say the least, it was a high grade material and designed to handle about 950lbs of torque. So what we have done is set up the kit to Re-use the inner c.v. housing and replace the inner race with the 36 spline chromoly part we make. (you will change your inner c.v. housing over to the new axles sent of for $100.00 we will install yours for you) Now if you want to use this sytem on a C6 vette you will need an inner c.v. from a C5 (we all know how bad the C6 inner was from the factory) , We have secured several inner c.v.'s and will install them for an additional 200.00 per set (will be Kit #GM52).
